Erevann (Fr) is to join Vadeni (Fr) as another new recruit to the Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval in Normandy in 2024.
The son of Dubawi (Ire) and Ervedya (Fr), who became the first Classic winner for subsequent French champion sire Siyouni (Fr) when winning the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches in 2015, won on debut at Deauville as a juvenile followed by two more consecutive victories, including the G3 Prix Paul de Moussac. Launched straight into Group 1 company thereafter, he was just a neck behind Inspiral (GB) when third in the Prix Jacques le Marois before taking the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein on his final start as a 3-year-old. He has added three further group placings to his record this season.
Georges Rimaud, manager for the Aga Khan Studs in France, said, “It gives us great pleasure to announce the addition of Erevann to our stallion roster. Not only did he prove himself a tough and consistent performer on the racecourse, but he also has an extremely attractive pedigree, being a son of sire of sires Dubawi out of a champion daughter of Siyouni.
“In fact Erevann boasts a similar profile to Zarak, who, since retiring to stud in 2018, has swiftly risen through the ranks to become one of the most exciting young sires in Europe. Both Erevann and Zarak won the Prix de Saint-Désir as 2-year-olds, and both are sons of Dubawi out of multiple Group 1-winning Aga Khan Studs-bred mares. Both also have pedigrees free of Sadler's Wells, giving breeders plenty of options when devising mating plans.

In addition to the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, Ervedya also won the G1 Coronation S. and G1 Prix du Moulin at three, as well as placing in both the G1 Prix Morny and G1 Prix Marcel Boussac. Erevann is her second foal.
Ervedya's fifth dam Eunomia (Fr) (Abdos {Fr}) was bred by Marcel Boussac, with the line being one of his families assimilated into the Aga Khan Studs broodmare band in the late 1970s.
“It is fitting that not long after celebrating our centenary, we have been able to retire two exciting new stallion prospects. Both Vadeni and Erevann represent a combining of Aga Khan bloodlines with families of some of the great owner/breeders of the 20th century–Jean-Luc Lagardère in the case of Vadeni and Marcel Boussac in the case of Erevann,” Rimaud added.
“We look forward to showing both horses, together with leading sires Siyouni and Zarak, to breeders by appointment at Haras de Bonneval.”
